Hare Krsna.
The Supreme Lord Krsna is known as “avatari” the source of all avatars, incarnations of the Lord. Srimad Bhagavatam (1.3.28) describes Sri Krsna as “krsnas tu bhagavan svayam“.

ete cāṁśa-kalāḥ puṁsaḥ
kṛṣṇas tu bhagavān svayam
indrāri-vyākulaṁ lokaṁ
mṛḍayanti yuge yuge

[SB 1.3.28]

All of the above-mentioned incarnations are either plenary portions or portions of the plenary portions of the Lord, but Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa is the original Personality of Godhead. All of them appear on planets whenever there is a disturbance created by the atheists. The Lord incarnates to protect the theists.”

His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (ISKCON Founder-Acharya) states in Srimad Bhagavatam : “Sītā is Lakṣmījī, or the goddess of fortune, but she is never to be enjoyed by any living being. She is meant for being worshiped by the living being along with her husband, Śrī Rāmacandra. A materialistic man like Rāvaṇ does not understand this great truth, but on the contrary he wants to snatch Sītādevī from the custody of Rāma and thus incurs great miseries. The materialists, who are after opulence and material prosperity, may take lessons from the Rāmāyaṇ that the policy of exploiting the nature of the Lord without acknowledging the supremacy of the Supreme Lord is the policy of Rāvaṇ.”

(Srimad-Bhagavatam:― Canto 2: The Cosmic Manifestation, Chapter 7: Scheduled Incarnations with Specific Functions, Text 23- Purport)

So, Srimati Radharani the consort of Sri Krsna, and Sita Devi the consort of Sri Rama have also appeared as the Lord’s external energy in this world as Srimati Durga Devi. The explanation by Srila Prabhupada is particularly instructive on this last day of Navaratri.

In the spiritual world, Durga maa is known as Yoga Maya, and in this world, she expands as Maha Maya. Srimati Durga Devi’s position as a devotee of Sri Krsna must be understood. One who prays to her for material possessions is tantamount to snatching her away from Lord Ram.

But for one who honours her as a devotee, as the Lord’s energy, she becomes the benevolent mother who takes one back to the loving father.
We offer our prayers to her as she executes her service in this world to her beloved Lord Sri Krsna, to keep the errant souls here and pray that she will release us from the three kleshas, the threefold miseries of this world represented by her trident.

We ask everyone to understand her transcendental position as a devotee of Sri Krsna.
What better day then, on this Sri Ramacandra Vijay Dasami to pray that those demoniac tendencies that hold us back from spiritual progress, be removed.

Srimati Durga devi ki Jai!
Sri Sri Sita Ram Lakshman and Bhakta Hanuman ki jai!
Krsna astu Bhagavan svayam, Sri Sri Radha Krsna Bhagavan ki jai!

Happy Dussehra (Shri Ramchandra Vijay Utsav) to everyone
