śrīdhara manohara saṭā-paṭala kānta
pālaya kṛpālaya bhavāmbudhi-nimagnaṁ
daitya-vara-kāla narasiṁha narasiṁha
O Narasiṁha, Narasiṁha! You are the husband of Śrī (Lakṣmī), who is as splendid as millions of spotless full moons. Beautiful, dear Lord with abundant mane, You are the death of the greatest demon Hiraṇyakaśipu. O ocean of mercy, I am sinking into the ocean of birth and death! Please protect me!
bhāvana parāyaṇa bhavārti-harayā māṁ
pāhi kṛpayaiva narasiṁha narasiṁha
O Narasiṁha, Narasiṁha! You are the forest fire that burns down the sins of the people who bow down to Your lotus feet, and Your chariot flag is adorned by the best of birds Garuḍa. You are the cause of creation and the supreme shelter. Please protect me with Your mercy, which alone can remove the distress of birth and death.
paṇḍita-nidhāna kamlālaya namas te
paṅkaja-niṣaṇṇa narasiṁha narasiṁha
O Narasiṁha, Narasiṁha! Your raised nails have ripped apart the great demon, Hiraṇyakaśipu, and His blood smeared on Your chest made it look like fresh kuṅkum was applied on You. I bow down to You, who are situated in Your lotuslike abode and are the shelter of the wise and the abode of Kamalā (Lakṣmī).
mauliṣu vibhūṣaṇam ivāmara-varāṇāṁ
yogi-hṛdayeṣu ca śiraḥsu nigamānām
rājad-aravinda-ruciraṁ pada-yugaṁ te
dehi mama mūrdhni narasiṁha narasiṁha
O Narasiṁha, Narasiṁha! Please place on my head Your feet, which are as beautiful as two bright lotus flowers. They ornament the crowns of the demigods, the hearts of the yogīs and the topmost Vedic scriptures (Upaniṣads).
ehi ramayā saha śaraṇya vihagānāṁ
nātham adhiruhya narasiṁha narasiṁha
O Narasiṁha, Narasiṁha, O lotus eyed one! Please come to me, riding on the back of Garuḍa, the king of birds, along with Ramā, Your consort, when all my senses will be suffering in distress in the final moment of my life.
bhūṣitam aśeṣa-nilayaṁ tava vapur me
cetasi cakāstu narasiṁha narasiṁha
O Narasiṁha, Narasiṁha! Your body, which is the ultimate shelter of everything, is decorated with a crown, a beautiful necklace, a forest garland, bracelets, pearls, shark-shaped earrings, and various excellent jewels. Let this form of Yours illuminate my heart.
sundara cirāya ramatāṁ tvayi mano me
nandita-sureśa narasiṁha narasiṁha
O Narasiṁha, Narasiṁha! O beautiful One, the shelter of Ramā! The sun, the moon and the fire are Your eyes, and Your mighty arm is beautified by a huge wheel. O You, who are honored by Indra, may my mind always rejoice in Your form.
mādhava mukunda madhusūdana murāre
vāmana nṛsiṁha śaraṇaṁ bhava natānām
kāma-da ghṛṇin nikhila-kāraṇa nayeyaṁ
kālam amareśa narasiṁha narasiṁha
O Narasiṁha, Narasiṁha, Mādhava, Mukunda, Madhusūdana, Murāri, Vāmana! Please protect those surrendered unto You. O compassionate, immortal Lord, the cause of all causes, please fulfil my desire to pass my life chanting Your names.
aṣṭakam idaṁ sakala-pātaka-bhayaghnaṁ
yaḥ paṭhati santatam aśeṣa-nilayaṁ te
gacchati padaṁ sa narasiṁha narasiṁha
O Narasiṁha, Narasiṁha! These eight prayers make one free from all the fear of sinful reactions, fulfils one’s desires and eliminates all enemies and diseases. One who reads them daily will attain Your abode, which is the shelter of everything.
